ABOUT THE COMICS

BRUCE BRUCE
Bruce Bruce is a name synonymous with keeping audiences rolling with laughter thanks to his captivating improv skills and larger than life comedic style. Bruce’s steady style of comedy has been showcased across the country, and he has been entertaining audiences young and old, and of all backgrounds, for years. His wit, spontaneity and dazzling personality set him apart from other standup comedians. While known for his adult comedy, he prides himself on not using vulgarity to win a laugh and is no stranger is winning over new audiences with every appearance he makes. From his role as host for two seasons of BET’s “Comic View” to his many appearances on tv and film, Bruce is clearly a comedian that has found his mark in the business. Bruce headlined the 2008 Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, leaving the audiences north of the border in stitches. On the feature film front, Bruce made a cameo in the HBO Films feature “Idlewild,” appeared in “Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector,” and in the comedy “Who’s Your Caddy” as “Golf Ball Eddie.”

LAVELL CRAWFORD
Perhaps best known for his role on Breaking Bad (as Huell), or for appearances on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Tosh-O, and more, Lavell Crawford is majorly funny. The album version of his 2021 Comedy Vaccine special was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.

ARNEZ J
With appealing charisma and the physicality of Jim Carrey, Arnez J has been dubbed “the black Jerry Lewis.” The Atlanta native began working the comedy circuit in Georgia and quickly became one of “Hotlanta’s” funniest newcomers. A finalist in the 1992 “Bay Area Black Comedy Competition,” Arnez was noticed by the entertainment industry and was asked to make his first television appearance on Showtime’s “Comedy Club Network.” Numerous TV appearances followed, including appearances on “The Keenan Ivory Wayans Show,” “Louie Anderson’s Comedy Showcase,” Comedy Central’s “Make Me Laugh,” NBC’s “Friday Night Videos,” Russell Simmons’ “Def Comedy Jam,” his own BET “Comic View Grandstand” one-hour special, and others. He was honored to perform as an opening act for The Artist Formerly Known as Prince. This busy comic keeps up a dizzying pace performing for sold out crowds in clubs, colleges and concert halls nationwide.

Your Hostess with the Mostess, SOMMORE
Sommore reigns as the undisputed “Queen of Comedy." With a winning combo of class and sass, she offers audiences a hilarious, yet piercing look at today’s issues from a woman’s perspective. Frank and fearless, she tackles topics ranging from the mundane to the controversial with wit, intelligence and style. Sommore was the first woman to host BET’s ”Comic View” (1994-1995 season), and received the Richard Pryor Award for Comic of the Year in 1995. She has also hosted Russell Simmons’ “Def Comedy Jam,” and “Showtime at the Apollo.” She was part of 2000’s record-breaking “Queens of Comedy” tour which garnered her a wider fan base and placed her in Guinness’ Book of World Records when she performed to an audience of over 50,000 in Atlanta. Never one to rest on her laurels, Sommore was a featured comic in the “Latham Entertainment Presents” tour in 2002, where she was the only woman performer. In 2002, Sommore made her film debut in Friday After Next. She has also been featured in a number of other films including, Family Reunion (2002), Soul Plane (2004), Something New (2006), and Dirty Laundry (2007). Her TV credits include: “The Hughleys” and “The Parkers,” HBO’s “SNAPS” and MTV’s “Wild ‘N Out.”
