A sampling of fine Spanish Wines
On June 25th we present a whirlwind tour of fine Spanish wine accompanied by live jazz. Set in the splendor of Bacchus’ state-of-the-art wine cellar, this is an event you won’t want to miss. There will be hors d’oeuvres as we journey through the great wine of Spain. Only $39.
WINE
A delicious selection of old world Spanish favorites! Tempranillo, Rioja, Grenache, Cava and more…The knowledgeable experts from the Bacchus team will be on-hand to speak about the wines and pour.
Fast Facts
Spain is a vital and rich wine producing region with several main types of wine:
The four (4) basic types of Spanish wine.
(1) Tinto – red
(2) Rosado – rosé
(3) Blanco – white
(4) Cava – sparkling wine, made in the style of champagne.
Did you know that Spain is the most widely planted wine producing nation in the world. Over 600 grape varieties!! Primary grapes are Tempranillo, Albariño, Garnacha, and Palomino. And there are three (3) ageing designations on Spanish wine labels: Crianza (1-2 years ageing), Reserva (2-3 years ageing) and Gran Reserva (4-5 years ageing).
Do you like red wine? Try a delicious Rioja. Looking for something to cool off with during the summer months? Sample a delightfully light Cava.
And remember…
“Some of the best wines are not necessarily expensive; you just have to spend the time exploring to find hidden gems.”
- Sean Mahoney, wine collector & connoisseur
